In honor of Valentines day, I figure I will post a negative and a positive addressing this romance nonsense. This one was written for a person dear to me who is going through a rough time in his marriage. I initially wrote it in his presence as a joke, but it's been on my mind, so I'm reworking it a little to give it a more serious vibe. Note: This is going to be a very rough draft...

I gave you a rose for every year together
since we said, "I do".
Yeah, I never thought I would run out of chances
to show my love to you.
But you folded, you ripped all to pieces everything
I was fighting for.
So on this so-called "special" day, I'll make sure to turn and say
as I'm walking out the door,

so I never hit a dozen.

I thought I'd be giving you roses by the barrel
